Steamboat Rides

Steam across magnificent Cedar Lake in an authentic 1915 steamboat. Choose from our Monon or Premium Route on Wednesdays from June 11th to September 24th. Prices vary from $15 to $35 per person. The Museum at Lassen's Resort members receive a 20% discount on the premium route.

The schedule generally is:
Monon Route: 10:30 am, 2:30 pm, 4 pm, 4:30 pm, 6 pm, 6:30 pm
Premium Route: 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm, 5 pm

Note: Walkers and wheelchairs can be accommodated on the Cedar Lake pier, but the steamboat is not handicap accessible. A dockside steam demonstration can be scheduled for those with limited mobility.

The Cedar Lake Historical Association presents the Dewey Line Experience at The Museum at Lassen's Resort in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Cruise aboard "Steamer Dewey," an authentic steamboat (c. 1915), where Cedar Lake history comes alive as you discover the science behind steam power. Learn the history of Lassen's Resort, from its 1896 founding with a single steamboat that ferried passengers from the Monon rail depot to all points around the lake, through its bustling years as a summer getaway.
